Capturing data China hedge shears Factory and engaging with consumers in a relevant manner quickly gives a brand a leg up. Understandably, competition has increased too, which has lengthened and complicated the consumer’s decision-making process. For instance, a customer logged into an app can get quick information like the closest gas station, or eat out recommendations based on personal and geo-location data. This makes consumers feel recognised.Using data to create personalised experiences:Personalisation is a powerful yet underutilised aspect for brands to engage consumers and keep them coming back. This combined with data on other aspects of demographics, behaviours and affiliation, enable brands to create a level of personalisation that grabs customer’s attention.CRM tools enable brands to categorise their consumers.CRM tools enable brands to record consumer preferences, customise their experiences accordingly and build human relations beyond numbers and algorithms. With the increase in disposable income and desire to travel among millennials, the travel sector is evolving at the rate of knots. Based on this, they offer consumers meaningful rewards—both large and small—through loyalty programs. But brands can do much more with data.
They click on hundreds of websites, browse through social media, online booking engines, review sites, mobile apps and so on, before eventually choosing a travel brand to buy from.Limesh Parekh, CEO, Enjay IT Solution suggests four ways in which CRM is enabling travel brands to delight their consumers and increase their own revenue in the process:Powerful and relevant storytelling:As mentioned above, the consumer’s decision-making has become lengthier and more intricate and is spread across various platforms, especially mobile. But CRM is making it increasingly easier for travel brands to not just engage with leads across various touch points, but also to convert them into loyal consumers.Building meaningful relationships:Today’s travellers are looking for personalised, authentic, purpose-driven experiences. Brands can use CRM to garner insights like knowing the places customers have travelled to, the type of services they regularly avail, how much they’re willing to pay, their frequency of travel and so on. With in-depth insights about their demographics, spending habits and behaviour, travel brands can serve powerful stories to consumers and stay relevant.
"They shot me with chemo, it almost killed me. Johns Hopkins has a genomic lab specially designed to help doctors personalize patient treatments, rather than basing treatment simply on the location of the tumor. Ryan has been able to attend the graduations of three of his children, and will take part in the wedding of one of his daughters this summer -- even though doctors expected he had just 18 months to live in June 2013.Ryan went through all that in 2013, and his tumor persisted. Some experts are cautious, having been disappointed numerous times by other newfangled approaches to fighting cancer. For oncologist Julie Brahmers part, she hopes that one day, metastatic cancers -- those that can spread to points distant from the site of origin -- will be treated like a "chronic disease," rather than a death sentence..Relatively few patientsImmunotherapy trains the bodys natural defenses -- immune cells, also known as T-cells -- to detect and kill cancer cells, which otherwise can adapt and hide. The drug was delivered intravenously at the hospital, at first every two weeks, then once a month. It helps that the Baltimore facility has numerous clinical trials under way, far more than the average US hospital. But for leukemia, breast, lung, cervical, colon and rectal cancer, as well as the serious skin cancer known as melanoma, immunotherapy and other personalized treatments are making progress "slowly but surely," said Nelson. The best-known is chemotherapy, which has been used for decades and aims to kill tumors but is so toxic that it also attacks healthy cells, leading to major side effects like weakness, pain, diarrhea, nausea and hair and weight loss.
There is a greater risk of detection in the active approach, but it also offers more benefits as it allows the attacker to extract information on a regular basis, monitor its target and their victims, and potentially even insert its own implants or mount attacks in the name of its victim. The active approach involves infiltrating another threat actor’s malicious infrastructure. Some threat actors share rather than steal victims. The researchers believe this was also a backdoor belonging to another group, although there are no indicators as to who this might be.One of these was found in 2013, while analyzing a server used by NetTraveler, a Chinese-language campaign targeting activists and organizations in Asia. The second one was found in 2014, while investigating a hacked website used by Crouching Yeti (also known as Energetic Bear), a Russian-language threat actor targeting the industrial sector since 2010. In November 2014, Kaspersky Lab reported that a server belonging to a research institution in the Middle East, known China rolling party cooler Factory as the Magnet of Threats, simultaneously hosted implants for the highly sophisticated threat actors Regin and Equation Group (English-language), Turla and ItaDuke (Russian-language), as well as Animal Farm (French-language) and Careto (Spanish). In a detailed review of the opportunities for such attacks, GReAT researchers identified two main approaches: passive and active.
Backdoors installed in another entity’s command-and- control (C&C) infrastructure Installing a backdoor in a hacked network allows attackers to establish persistence inside the operations of another group. Targeting-by- proxyInfiltrating a group with an established stake in a certain region or industry sector enables an attacker to reduce costs and improve targeting, benefiting from the specialist expertise of its victim.Kaspersky Lab believes that such attacks are likely to be implemented mainly by nation-state backed groups, targeting foreign or less competent actors. Such knowledge allows researchers to better map different attackers’ goals, targets and behaviors, and to help organizations determine their level of risk. The DarkHotel operation dates from April 2016, while the ScarCruft attacks were implemented a month later, suggesting that ScarCruft may have observed the DarkHotel attacks before launching its own. Sharing hacked websitesIn 2016, Kaspersky Lab researchers found that a website compromised by the Korean-language DarkHotel also hosted exploit scripts for another targeted attacker, which the team called ScarCruft, a group targeting mainly Russian-, Chinese- and South Korean-organizations. This is a risky approach if one of the groups is less advanced and gets caught, as the inevitable forensic analysis that follows will also reveal the other intruders. In fact, this server was the starting point for the discovery of the Equation Group. It is important that IT security researchers learn how to spot and interpret the signs of these attacks, so that they can present their intelligence in context.
To borrow and save is to move money from the future to the present or from the present to the future. Designed to protect the poor against specific losses, it leverages economies of scale (large volumes of small policies).Poverty and vulnerability reinforce each other in an escalating downward spiral. The key challenge for microinsurance is the high costs of administering it. The global revolution in mobile communications, along with rapid advances in digital payment systems, is creating opportunities to connect poor households to affordable and reliable financial tools through mobile phones, and other digital interfaces. However, insurance coverage is much patchier in the developing world.Insurance can provide low income communities with a greater degree of protection against health, property, disability and death risk, because the risk of these events occurring is pooled over a large number of people, at a much lower cost or premium per person. And more policies mean greater business for the company — and viable coverage for clients. It enables money to be in the right place at the right time for the right situation. It has ultra-low premiums and low coverage. Although poor households often have informal means to manage risks, these coping strategies generally provide inadequate protection. India accounted for 65 per cent of Asia’s micro-insurance market, according to the Munich Re and GIZ report, with some 37 million poor families signed up to Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) or national health insurance programme, the flagship programme of the government for health insurance.
I moved from the Bay Area to Los Angeles where I first worked in the VFX industry writing software tools on movies like Titanic and the Fifth Element and eventually ended up at Disney Animation. What are your upcoming movie projects? We just wrapped up Moana that will be released in the US on Nov 23rd, we are already working on the sequel to Wreck-It-Ralph for early 2018 and have started some research work for our next feature, Gigantic, after that.Is there any particular Disney movie that influenced your perspective and outlook towards animation as a profession?I love that there is a great amount of Wholesale aluminum pots Manufacturers history at the Disney Animation Studios with classic films that go all the way back to 1937 (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs). This means that in an animated film, an artist has to go in and think about design and construct every piece of texture, prop (street light, cars), environment (trees, sky, grass, ground), set (buildings, furniture), and character (body, clothing, texture, hair). With over a decade-old stint at Walt Disney studios in computer graphics, Rajesh Sharma speaks to The Asian Age about the nitty-gritties of his craft and the upcoming movie Moana for which he has done the animation. As a technologist, it is amazing to see that the principles of animation haven’t changed much since the early days.
As 2017 begins and we flounder in our mad rush to force all of India into a digital economy overnight, it is worth pausing and reflecting on what the digital economy is, who controls the platforms and lines as well as some basic concepts about money and technology which have moulded our lives and freedoms, based on patented systems that are failing the people of "West". And because of the nature of networks, if we’re not careful we could wind up with a series of winners who took all: one global bookstore; one social network; one search engine; one online multimedia store and so on. Gandhi following Leo Tolstoy and John Ruskin called it "bread labour" — labour that creates bread that sustains life. Mr Gates used his monopoly to eliminate rivals and then to ensure that no matter what kind of computer you wanted it had to have Microsoft windows.Bill Gates and company made money through patents on software that were developed by brilliant people; they merely own the "workshop" — owning all the work that happens under their roof. Money making and tools for money making have become the new religion and the government policy has been reduced to the facilitation of the imposition of the digital empires of the new moghuls. Money has no value in and of itself.
And we need to be asking far more questions than we are asking. This VC-armada is led by Vanguard Inc. Money is merely a means of exchange, it is a promise. How else could the exchange traded funds like Vanguard be the biggest investors in all major corporations, from Monsanto to Bayer, from Coca Cola to Pepsi, from Microsoft to Facebook, from Wells Fargo to Texaco? When I exchange Rs 100 even a 100 times it remains Rs 100."It already is one digital dictatorship. In effect, they are rent collectors of the digital economy, who have collected very large rents, at very high frequency, in a very short time."Short term pain for long term gain" has become the slogan for the dictated transition to a digital economy. Money and tools are means, they need to be utilised with wisdom and responsibility to higher ends such as the protection of nature, the wellbeing of all and the common good.Communication and community, friendships and networks are the very basis of society. Our relationships are the source of "big data", the new commodity in the digital world. This big seed grab was stalled at the recent convention on biodiversity meetings in Cancun. As he perceptively observes in the Guardian: "In social networking Mark Zuckerberg has cunningly inserted himself (via his hardware and software) into every online communication that passes between his 900 million subscribers, to the point where Facebook probably knows that two people are about to have an affair before they do.

"Archana StalinBut Priyanka has a slightly different point of view, "We realised that though many people were willing to take to urban farming, they didn’t have right kind of information — which crop to grow in a particular season and more.Be it an individual, a group of friends or a small neighbourhood/ community with a sense of purpose, the activity is touted as a way to increase access to locally-grown food and bring to light again, the many benefits of food that have gotten lost over time. Rather than relying on the ‘labeled’ organic vegetables from the market, the wiser lot has decided to grow their own produce. The herbs that I’m talking about don’t even require that much space — you can easily grow them in a 10-inch pot.The desire to eat healthyPriya Thalur Balaji, wife of former international cricketer Lakshmipathy Balaji, says that she was inspired to take up urban farming so that her family could eat healthy. This millennial quit his high-paying job… to start a farm!’ Clickbait as they may be, there’s no denying that the phenomenon of urban farming has well and truly captured the fancy of the Gen Y today. The concept of urban farming is a hit with today’s generation, as many youngsters tap into their inner green thumb to bring about a sense of food justice into their everyday lives."I have a weird reason for getting into organic farming; I wanted to do something with the terrace space in my house, and the idea of a garden somehow randomly came to mind! Maybe there was a hidden gene from my forefathers inside me, which propagated my green thumb; I took to it instantly. Support from multiple organisations has also helped the general public overcome certain limitations — space, for instance is no more an issue (certain herbs can now be grown in a 10-inch pot) and some enterprises even exist to help people set up base in their homes. From judiciously-researched plots of land to terraces and backyards, these social entrepreneurs are leaving no stone unturned (literally!) to ensure local agriculture becomes an intrinsic part of their lives. When we’re talking about changes in the environment, we are not going to come up with solutions unless or otherwise it’s not taken into a bigger level and not just as pastime.
"Archana Stalins terrace gardenPriyanka says that enterprises like theirs act as one-stop shop for all the farmers — "Right from the consultancy part, to providing raw materials and the most importance factor of maintenance, everything is taken care of by us. These days, I stick to growing greens rather than veggies, as the former has a lesser and easier cycle. In order to meet his particular dieting needs, he set up a 40-acre farm in Idukki and grows about 200 varieties of fruit vegetables. Even if you go to nurseries, all you’ll get is a show plant or a flowering plant. What I have noticed is that parents want to grow veggies and feed their kids home-grown, pesticide-free food. Call it a hark back to the roots, or an innate sense of triggering one’s green thumb, the fact remains that several young professionals find small-scale agriculture an amateur interest or in many cases, even an alternate career option. It has become an utmost priority now and the result is a major upsurge in the organic food industry. I didn’t do everything initially on my own; I had a person, who helped me at the beginning. But after first quarter, I understood more — how to add Wholesale hand pruners nutrition to the soil, what kind of nutrition one should buy, when one should use organic pesticides and stuff like that.
